Bob & Jim’s is a family owned and operated general store in Esperance, Western Australia. We sell fine foods and more with a focus on Australian Producers. Fruit, veg, bread and eggs – we have all the basics in store but if you’re looking for serious dinner inspo or beautiful gifts we’ve got you covered. We hand pick seasonal boxes of fresh fruit and vegetables for pick up or home delivery. We can even send our boxes out on the mail run if you are a bit further out and can’t make it in to town.
We keep a small stock of goods on the shelf from Pink Lake Butchers, a fellow lover of local food. Their meat is grass fed grass finished and is sourced from Western Australia’s South West Region so the meat miles are reduced as much as possible. If you would like your delivery order from them included in your order from us – just ask and we’re happy to help make it happen.
We support Australian Farmers and buy our fresh fruit and vegetables by the seasons so we may not have oranges over summer or grapes in winter. Our trucks are arriving fresh from the markets three times a week we guarantee the best of what’s fresh in the West with Australian grown produce our next choice.
We source unique products that are not available in mainstream supermarkets, curating a range of kitchen staples, speciality foods and giftware from small boutique producers, sustainable innovators and local artisans. We feature works from local artists Mintblue Sea, Naomi Stanitzki, Skullduggery Woodworks, Wildberry Art and Salted Sunrise.
Our remote little coastal town has some talented growers and makers and we are most excited when we can share their wares with our customers. The pastry drop from our Belgian bakers – Papa Waffles on Saturday mornings is legendary. Fresh baked sourdough loaves from microbakery Bread Local fly out the door still warm from the wood fired oven. We are proud to stock award winning extra virgin olive oil and olives from Yirri Grove. Local apiarists – Esperance Honey source the purest honey and bee pollen from the Great Western Woodlands. The pastured eggs from The Lucky Chickens and Banksia Park are breakfast perfection and coffee beans from small batch coffee roaster – Upward Spiral Roasting all reflect the passion of food producers doing what they love.
We know you care for the planet so we have Boomerang Bags you can borrow and bring back or boxes if you prefer. Reducing plastic use in our shop is a top priority. It was eliminated from our retail space on the day we took over and we continue to aim for further reductions in our wholesale space too.
If we don’t have something special that you’re looking for – ask us! We’ll do our best to get it in. Nothing gives us more happiness than being able to source and share premium produce with peachy people and we think our local community (travellers included) are the bees knees.
